36 Weeks!

4 Weeks to go. Things are finally starting to come together so that we're as ready as we can be for XY's birth. He can pretty much come anytime at this point. His room is mostly ready and we have the essentials to care for him! I'll probably get his carseat base installed next week so thats ready to go, and I need to still buy and pack a bag for the hospital. Once Adam gets working on his closet I'll have a few loads of baby laundry to do.

I'm still fairly comfortable, but he's been in my ribs the last few days so that's made me a little uncomfortable. I'm ready for him to come. The anticipation is getting to me and we can't wait to meet him!

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.
